It's A Team Effort.

One of the main reasons Crimestoppers has been so effective at fighting crime has been the spirit of collaboration shared by our staff, law enforcement and our Board of Directors.

Our Staff

Executive Director - Darlene Cusanza. The day-to-day management of the organization is the responsibility of the Executive Director. The current Executive Director has served in this capacity for the past nine years. Prior to joining Crimestoppers, she held a top administrative position for the Society of Louisiana CPAS, a statewide not for profit for twelve years. She also holds a Bachelors degree from L.S.U.M.C. – School of Allied Health Professions. Under the current Director’s leadership, Crimestoppers has been awarded a national Crimestoppers media award, been awarded the F.B.I. Regional Director’s award and awards of recognition from local crime fighting organizations. The Executive Director also currently serves as the President of the Louisiana Crime Stoppers Association and is a founding member.

Administrative Personnel - In addition to the Executive Director, the staff consists of an administrative assistant and a volunteer Certified Public Accountant who serves as the Treasurer/book keeper. A full time program coordinator to manage the Safe School Hotline will be added shortly.

Law Enforcement - Crimestoppers receives support from all of the law enforcement agencies in which we serve. The primary law enforcement liaison is with New Orleans Police Department.

New Orleans Police Department Crimestoppers Coordinators - Officer Garry Flot & Officer Juan Barnes: 826-2828

Police Technician - Ms. Maria Smith

Jefferson Parish Coordinator - Lt. Glen Toca: 364-5300

Our Board Of Directors

Oversight of Crimestoppers is the responsibility of the Board of Directors. A diverse group of 40 citizens and business leaders representing the communities which we serve make up the Board of Directors.

A Board member’s term begins with a three year commitment. At the end of the three years, they may be elected to serve another one, two or three year term or may move up to the Executive Board. If a member moves up to the Executive Board, they may serve as many as six years as they rotate up to the Presidency. Members from law enforcement may also serve on the Crimestoppers Board in an advisory capacity.

Currently, we have members from Orleans, Jefferson and St. Charles law enforcement representatives.

A second group called The Board of Trustees represents 18 business and civic leaders who serve in a fundraising and advisory capacity. A Trustee may serve for as long as they desire, once appointed to the Board.
